Mother’s Day is a great time to celebrate the amazing women in our lives who reflect God’s character to us in their words, actions, and sacrificial love. In the love of a mother, we can see unique parts of God’s heart toward his children.
We can feel God’s compassion in a mother’s warm embrace.
We can see God’s sacrifice in the pain of child-bearing a mother endures.
We can hear God’s promises through a mother’s reassuring words.
In 1st John chapter 4, we learn about how God Himself is Love. Verse 16 says, “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
Although we all have the opportunity and the commandment to love one another, there is something unique about the sweetness of a mother’s love that should be praised and appreciated.
Regardless of your family relationships, ask God to show you how His heart is reflected through the love of a Godly mother and praise him for the love he has given us. Ask God to make his love perfect in you so that you can stand firm, for perfect love casts out fear!
